Rolling out a new tool to a remote team usually means a week of Slack threads, a broken Zoom link, and three people who never install it. NoCapture Teams is designed to avoid that. Here is the 30-minute onboarding sequence that actually works.
Minute 0 to 5: Create the Organization
- Sign up for NoCapture Teams at this Page
- Create your organization and claim your admin dashboard
- Invite team members via email or bulk CSV import
- Set the default role: Admin, Manager, or User
Minute 5 to 15: Build the Organization Policy
In the admin dashboard:
- Navigate to Policies → Create New
- Name it "Standard Remote Work" or your preferred label
- Select apps that must be cloaked during screen shares:
- Slack
- Discord
- Email clients (Outlook, Gmail in browser)
- Password managers
- Internal chat and documentation tools
- Enable title masking for all cloaked apps
- Enable notification shield
- Enable Focus Mode with auto-detection for Zoom, Teams, Meet, and Discord
- Save and publish
The policy pushes to all enrolled devices within 60 seconds.
Minute 15 to 25: Deploy to Devices
For managed devices: Download the MSI from the admin dashboard and push via Intune, Group Policy, or your MDM of choice. We wrote the full Intune guide here.
For unmanaged/BYOD devices: Send the invite link. Users download the installer, sign in with their organization email, and the policy applies automatically.
Minute 25 to 30: Verify and Communicate
- Ask three team members to start a test Zoom or Teams call
- Confirm that protected apps auto-cloak when sharing starts
- Have them open live preview and verify the stream is clean
- Send a single Slack message or email with:
- What NoCapture does
- What apps are protected by default
- How to use live preview
- Who to contact for support
Do not over-communicate. One message. One policy. One verification step.
The First Week
Day 1 to 3: Monitor the admin dashboard for enrollment status. Reach out to users who have not activated.
Day 4 to 5: Collect feedback. Some users may need additional apps in the policy. Adjust and republish.
Day 6 to 7: Check the compliance report. It shows which devices have protection active, which have disabled it, and which have never enrolled.
The Common Mistakes
Mistake 1: Adding too many apps to the policy. Start with the obvious ones. Users can add personal apps to their own routines if needed.
Mistake 2: Not testing Focus Mode. Some users have custom conferencing apps. Verify that Focus Mode detects the apps your team actually uses.
Mistake 3: Forgetting the live preview. The policy enforces cloaking. Users still need to verify the capture stream before sharing. Make live preview part of the onboarding message.
The Limitation
NoCapture Teams enforces software-level capture exclusion. It does not prevent users from sharing screens from personal devices without NoCapture installed. Pair the tool with a BYOD policy for complete coverage.
